The Man Who Was Thursday
Author: G.K. Chesterton
This was an interesting book that I had no idea what the plot or premise was when I picked it up. I didn’t even know if it was fiction or non-fiction. I was planning on reading Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton, but then remembered I read it about ten years ago. So instead, I found another popular title by Chesterton and read that instead.
This book is a thriller about a policeman who covertly joins an underground group of anarchists in an attempt to stop them from committing an assassination. However, as he spends more time with the anarchist group, he learns that things are not what they seem. He, and other characters he meets begin to question who can be trusted, and what is even real.
I don’t want to say much more for risk of spoiling it, but I enjoyed the book overall. It was an allegorical thriller, with a good amount of philosophy underlying the book.
