Letters on wave mechanics

Author: H.A Lorentz, Max Planck, Albert Einstein, Erwin Schrödinger

This book is a short collection of letters sent between the four authors listed above on the topic of wave mechanics.

Schrodinger apparently came up with wave mechanics which is the mathematical study of the motion of a particle such as an electron and its energy. The motion of a particle is said to move in waves.

I had no idea what they were talking about during the technical aspects of their letters to each other, but it was still an interesting read to hear how these prominent scientists communicated with each other. I found Plank and Schrodinger’s communication to be particularly cordial. How nice of Plank to invite Schodinger to stay at his house in Berlin while Schrodinger was a visiting lecturer.
