Thank goodness I hadn’t seen the movie before I read this. Book was great! I did not see the twist coming and hadn’t had any spoilers about it so the twist punched me in the gut and beat me with a sock full of nickels. Definitely remember my mind exploding that last chapter as it unraveled the fact that ol’ Leo is insane and just ripping through the pages as fast as I could. And yes, It is a massive cliche to say the book is way better than the movie which in lots of cases I think movies can be as good or even better than the book… but in this case, the movie sucked compared to the book.
