Cranberry Roasted Chicken
Every now and then I like to film myself while making dinner. Basically I set my phone down in different places while I chop veggies or season meat and sometimes hold the camera in one hand while I stir or put food in the oven (shaky cam is a credited film technique ok).
The thing about the internet and media is everything is editable. So this meal might look ok in the video, but I’ll be brutally honest with you… it sucked. And I’m aware it looks nothing like the featured image of this post. Clickbait. But it worked.
I put too many cranberries in the dish (because they looked so good on camera) and it turned out to be way to tart. The marinade was nothing special, and it was basically just a piece of chicken on rice. In the closing image of the dish you can see the green onions are wilted from roasting the same time as the chicken/cranberries. In the future I would put those on near the end of cooking so they don’t get soggy.
I did have a good time filming and making the dish though. I titled the video Mise en place as a nod to the youtube series I mentioned on my food page.
